The art of weightloss...

Good brother, I couldn't come up with a decent title tonight if My life depended on it...
I have a ton to talk about...but really can't fit it all into one post.

1.)  I had a great night at the gym-728 calories burned on Arnold....200 situps done.

2.)  I am sitting at 179 at night on the scale.  Not sure why...I am probably much lower in the morning....
I haven't weighed myself in the morning for at least a week.  But on the positive side...I am in the 170's.
Period. At night and in the morning.  In a couple more pounds....7 at most...I'll have lost 90 lbs.
That's alot.

3.)  Art....I have a lot to say....

4.) organization....I wanted to thank Loretta for her wonderful email regarding what she does....I would also like to thank everyone that gave such lovely responses to my post on my 'malfunction'.
I have decided to do a combination calendar with calendar notes section plus lists.

The calendar is great....I can see out for the next year...I can post daily calorie intakes and excercise burns and still fit food stuff...Each month has a two page spread plus a monthly notes section for each day. So, I can put stuff I need to get or buy in the daily notes section....note upcoming events in the calendar section...and then I bought skinny legal pads to write daily to do lists on....
I have a bill folder already....so I will just put what day I pay the bills on my calender, write when to pick up stamps also..and then put it on my to do list for the following day so I have stamps to pay the bills.  Also girl scouts, homeschooling..etc.  It will all fit on the calender book.  Well it actually says planner...but it's spiral bound and I got it at target. It also has a place in the front for phone numbers and the like....
Pretty cool....

Okay,
nOw what I really want to address tonight.
I am as conservative probably as they come.
But,  I have to say...there is this radio announcer who is verklempt because pink was PRACTICALLY NAKED when she did her grammy routine.

I watched that routine.
I thought it was beautiful... well done, tasteful..
She was expressing, through dance, through everything...that moment just before something anticipated happens.
This is where I think conservatives can come off the rails.

I saw what she was wearing...and you couldn't see anything...
Not a nipple in sight.
And quite frankly, even if there had been a nip slip...it was nowhere near as nasty and trashy as britney spears and madonna licking each other's tonsils fully clothed a couple years back.

The difference is in the intent.
She didn't wear that to be provocative...it's not her style...
She wore it to express what the song was about.
It's like ballet...nobody complains about the men in tights, even though you can practically see everything.
Because it isn't about that.
IT's about the beauty of the human form in motion.
OR
Nudes by Ruebens....
I can't imagine anybody thinking of porn when viewing paintings of the human form by Rueben's or botticelli...
And quite frankly Rich....you screeching into your microphone daily that Pink was
PRACTICALLY NAKED is annoying and ridiculous.
You remind me of fifth grade boys in the bathroom with a national geographic and a half smoked cigarette.
I think it says more about the mind of the person who is doing the viewing than the object or the performance being viewed....
So here it is...
You can view it if you haven't already...
Do you feel like it's dirty?
 I don't.
well,
out of time....
I have to go to bed.
I am going to try to hit some of the blogs I missed yesterday...
I guess it's a feeling of ANTICIPATION.
lol.
hugs,
Chris

90 pound loss. Congratulations Chris. You work hard and are consistent. I think of you throughout my day when I want to reach for something not so healthy. Iron will... that's what Chris has. Just gotta not keep it within reach. I have no doubt you will reach the 160s, 150s at the pace you are going.

I hear what you're saying about the conservatism...

Also, I wanted to add about the calendar. I think it great. I used to have a bill sheet and I would write due dates/date paid/mailed/paid in person, etc. Then I signed up for Bill Pay with my bank and I just love it. I set everything to be paid on the date its suppose to. It takes me just a few minutes a week to make sure everything went through and I never have to worry about stamps.

I'm never late with the bills. You might want to check it out. I have a few friends who are not too keen on the paying bills on line. Its just a thought.

Have a great evening.

Hi Chris,
Wow, I hadn't seen the show before and I'm very impressed with Pink's athleticism. I can't even believe she could do those acrobatic moves, but to do them and keep singing without missing a beat, is amazing! Considering the demands of the choreography, to me, wearing a flesh-colored bodysuit was completely appropriate. I have new respect for her.

And congratulations on being in the 170s!

I've been a huuuuge fan of Pink for years, right from back in her R&B days and I was lucky enough to see her live a couple of years ago - I was blown away!

She is a talented singer and performer and looks fantastic to boot.

The radio announcer's comments smack of jealously to be honest, talent isn't something that grows on trees ;-)

As you know from reading my blog Chris, I have been literally boomeranging between 179 and 184 for months and months. I don't know why I can't seem to get past that 179 but everytime I get there, my body doesn't cooperate or stress eating derails me. I know there's an answer and I WILL figure it out dammit and so will you. I think it's radio announcers like that who push me to the conversative side of liberalism. I'm finding as I age I have no tolerance for it at all.

90 pounds! That's incredible!

I didn't see Pink's entire performance, just a bit on the news, but I found it to be tasteful in the context in which it was performed.

Thanks for the link to the Pink performance. I don't have TV, and I thought this was beautiful also--and I am as conservative as you. But I really grate also at unthinking conservatives who just scream about ridiculousness, and the conservatives who just mime what the loud ones say, without thinking about what they are saying...

Congrats on your weight loss and maintenance, and keep up the good work. (my stomach hurts thinking about your sit ups!)

Wow, so close to 90 lbs - congratulations on coming so far! That's amazing and something you really should be proud of.

I LOVED Pink's performance and don't understand any complaints regarding it. It was beautiful. I got it. Too bad that radio host can't.

Wow! 90 Pounds! Well done!

The video is "not available in my country". Grr. I wanted to see it - would probably agree with you.

I am a HUGE Pink fan adn I loved her performance. Her concert is Circus Themed- so if ya didnt know that I could see people not understanding her outfit or performance. I love the fact that she covered up underneath by wearing a flesh colored suit under that outfit. SHe is also one of the few singers who can manage to do an act like that and NOT lip-synch! :)

well chris, i viewed the presentation on pink, it reminded me of a vegas performance of paree de lido, lido de paree, i was having my $20 dinner when she came twirling down over my plate of food and my wife looked up and said"oh my god"i was put off my food for awhile, but you would say being put off my food would be a good thing, lose a pound or two>>>>it was my honeymoon in 1964, so this [PINK]couldn't be construed pornographic if it is on a par with 45 odd years ago>>>anyway i would say it got me in the mood for amoire later on that night in the honeymoon suite

Pink's performance was one of the most incredible and beautiful performances I have ever seen on an award show. People who miss the point of things and complain just to hear themselves talk irritate me.

I really like what you said about "intention". I agree 100%. I watched the clip, and it was beautiful!

I saw Pink in a tv interview a few days ago, talking about the upcoming performance. She does PX90 to get in shape for performances. And she made it clear that she was singing that LIVE, upside down, twirling and wet. Amazing.

Yeah, she was officially covered, and I found it all very artsy and beautiful. But... us gals have to remember that guys tend to be... well, lets just say more jazzed by what they SEE. They aren't thinking "oh, what a lovely, artistic, athletic performance." Some of them (the radio announcer included) might tend to instead think "oh, what a great wet bod...oh baby!"

I mean, that's just the way they're built. Too bad they forget the beauty side of things.
So you are right, it's very telling about THEIR state of mind.

You said "I can't imagine anybody thinking of porn when viewing paintings of the human form by Rueben's or botticelli..."

Um... well, I can. Being an artist, I ran into that kind of "conservatism" years ago, and was dumb enough back then to give in and actually discard a gorgeous, large expensive art book on the history of art. All because "they" were offended at the nudes by the likes of Ruebens, Michelangelo and daVinci!!! If that happened nowadays, I would give them an earful. But that's another story...

Thanks for the Pink clip... I loved it!

I don't think it was nasty at all. Very tasteful, but that's just me.
